Our focus is on the straightforward mechanical side of cycling — particularly cable-actuated components that keep your bike safe, smooth, and enjoyable to ride. From punctures and brake adjustments to gear tuning and routine servicing, we take care of the everyday repairs that keep you moving. For more complex electronic or wireless systems, we may recommend a specialist.
As long-distance bicycle tourists ourselves, we have extensive experience maintaining touring bicycles and offering practical advice, with a strong focus on reliability, durability and performance over extended rides.
As a Bosch-listed e-bike repairer, Mulga Bicycle Repairs can also assist with Bosch e-bike diagnostics and repairs alongside general mechanical servicing.
Availability
Mulga Bicycle Repairs operates on a part-time, booking-based schedule, with all servicing arranged by phone or email.
Our focus is on straightforward work, done properly, with honest advice and no fuss - getting you back on the bike without the long queues often found elsewhere.
There will be times when we’re unavailable as we will be travelling.

Fees
A note on our approach
We focus on the straightforward mechanical side of cycling — the parts that keep your bike safe, smooth, and enjoyable to ride.
If you’re unsure what your bike needs, we’re happy to take a look and advise.
If more specialised work is required, we’ll recommend a suitable specialist.
How we charge
Our labour fees are listed below and include GST.
Minimum charge $35 (first 15 minutes), then $27.50 per 15-minute block thereafter.
For work outside the listed services, labour is charged on this time basis. Common Repairs that can often be completed within 15 minutes include puncture repairs as well as brake and gear adjustments.
Parts are not included. If parts are required, we’ll discuss options and confirm costs before proceeding.
Preparing your bike for drop‑off
Please ensure your bike is clean before you drop it off. A quick hose down and wipe by you is usually sufficient.
If cleaning is required before work begins, a $25 pre-service cleaning fee will apply.
General Servicefrom $120
For most bikes that need a check-over and tune, we’ll go over the key mechanical components to make sure everything is working safely and smoothly.
Includes:
- safety check
- cable brake adjustment
- cable gear tuning
- drive chain lubrication
- written report
Full Servicefrom $180
For bikes that haven’t been serviced in a while or need a more thorough going-over.
Includes everything in a General Service, with additional time spent checking and adjusting the bike more comprehensively.
Includes:
- drivetrain clean and lubrication
- wheel check
- cable inspection
- brake fluid replacement (where required)
- written report
E‑bike Servicefrom $250
We are currently only able to assist with Bosch and Shimano powered e-bikes.
Our E‑bike Service includes everything in a Full Service, along with:
- system scan and fault/error code check
- review of system status and performance
- firmware/software update check
- wiring and connection inspection
- written report
Where more extensive work is identified, we will contact you with an estimate for approval before proceeding.
For more complex electronic issues, our approach is to diagnose, replace where appropriate, and refer if specialist work is required.
